b99 au: everything is exactly the same except stephanie beatriz plays charles and joe lo truglio plays rosa

episode idea: jake gets knocked out and has some vivid dream and we get to see this for every other character. charles and rosa switch. gina is played by andre braugher. hitchcock is a responsible captain and amy is hanging with scully. the part of Amy is now played by Terry and hes flirting with Jake.

I love how Ray Holt is portrayed simultaneously as a serious, emotionless captain as well as the most dramatic and petty person on the whole team. I live for his deadpan dramatic-ness and I’ve honestly never seen a character like him before on TV

The first time we see Kevin, he describes Holt as hilarious and the other characters are bewildered by this, but Holt has been a prankster since the beginning of the show. In the very first episode, when he was making Jake carry on with the robot impression, he was pranking him. The hula hoop incident. The fact he got so into the Halloween heists. Winding Jake up is one of his greatest sources of amusement and he loves playing jokes on people.

It’s just that no one recognises them as jokes because his face stays utterly serious throughout.

I simply said what I wish had been said when Kevin and I got married.

This is one of my favourite pieces of this show because “Marriage is like…oatmeal” was introduced as part of the “Holt can’t do emotions” gag

But in this speach, the unusual metaphor is powerful and sincere and heartwarming. And it shows that these writers really understand the character of Holt and the nature of love, and that they are very, very good at their craft.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Brooklyn Nine-Nine producers Universal Television have fielded a number of incoming calls from other outlets including Hulu (where the Andy Samberg comedy has an SVOD deal), Netflix (which has business with the studio including Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), TBS (whose president, Kevin Reilly, developed the series) and network sibling NBC.

This is amazing. Look how many people love this show. Like holy shit fox will regret this day so much.

I just love that every other network/service seems to have had the brains to be like “holy shit, they’re giving up what is known to be one of the best comedy series currently on tv, FUCKING GRAB IT”
